History
Founded in 2005, Stardom School of Dance has attracted many young and experienced dancers. Opened
in Troy, New York and now operating two studio locations (Troy & Schaghticoke) by Nanette and Tara Garmley, former instructors
of Flynn School of Dance, this facility has become a place where passion thrives, talent and confidence are built, and lasting friendships
are made. We offer different genres of dance to boys and girls of all ages and abilities, we even offer adult classes.

Our Beliefs
At Stardom School of Dance, we are committed to providing excellence in dance education to students of all ages and abilities. By providing dance instruction in a supportive and non-competitive atmosphere, each of our students is able to achieve his or her own personal best. By offering various forms of dance, our students become artistically diverse and well rounded. We pride ourselves in making dance the most fun and rewarding experience ever by combining solid technique with the freedom of movement. Our instructors offer unique and up to date choreography in different genres of dance to keep things current, fun, and exciting!
Faculty Bios Nanette began dancing at the young age of five at Flynn School of Dance located in Troy, New York. There she took several years of dance later becoming an instructor of eight years until the closing of the studio in 2005. At this time,Nanette founded Stardom School of Dance located at 828 Hoosick Road in Troy, New York, where she specializes in teaching Kinder Class, Tap, Jazz, and Primary Ballet. Since the grand opening in 2005, the studio has attracted more and more dancers. To continue her dance education, Nanette periodically takes professional classes at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, as well as attends teacher workshops and seminars with some of the nation's dance experts. Tara Garmley - Co-director/ Dance Instructor Tara began dancing at the age of five at Flynn School of Dance located in Troy, New York where she was also an instructor for five years. She continued her dancing education there until the final closing of the studio in 2005. Tara was a two-year member of the Charger's Dance Team at the University of New Haven, Connecticut, as well as a dancer for the To broaden her dance education,Tara has also taken several classes under the direction of the professional staff at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. She attends several workshops annually in order to stay up to date with the latest choreography and hottest moves, providing her with the opportunities to meet and work with famous choreographers Beth Jacobs - Ballet Instructor Nicole Corey - Bellydance Instructor Vici Armsby is a licensed Kindermusik educator having taught for over a decade in the tri-city area. As a member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association (ECMMA), Vici has taught Kindermusik for the past eleven years at Carondelet Music Center. For the past year Vici has offered her unique classes at Tumbling Tykes in Latham as well. Vici has also taught music at Morning Star Montessori School, Woodland Hills Montessori School, and local daycare programs and workplaces in Albany. Miss Alyssa - Student Teacher

We strongly believe that the art of dancing enriches children’s lives by strengthening character and teaching them important values that they will carry with them throughout their lives. Dance education builds confidence, teaches self-discipline, fosters creativity, and allows for individual expression. Dance is great way for people of all ages, especially young children, to develop rhythm, coordination, and social skills. At Stardom School of Dance, our mission is to bring out the "star" in each of our students.

Beth joined the studio for the 2007-2008 dance year. She has a very extensive dance background both as a ballet instructor and performer. Beth has taught at....coming soon.

Vici Armsby - Music With Vici
Alyssa began dancing at the age of 2 1/2 and currently takes instruction in all styles of dance offered at our studio and is also a member of Stardom's Competition Team. This will be Miss Alyssa's second year assisting both Tara and Nannette with both Kinder classes and our 5 and 6 year olds.
This will be Miss Francesca's fourth year as an assistant teacher. Also, a member of Stardom's Competition Team, Francesca is enrolled in many classes herself and is very dedicated to helping out in any way she can.
This will be Miss Kenzi's first year as a student teacher. To get a head start, Miss Kenzi has assisted Nanette with a few classes during the 2009 summer dance session and she is off to a great start! With dance being her greatest passion, Miss Kenzi is also enrolled in several classes at Stardom and is a second year competition team member.
Miss Liza is a first year student teacher assisting Nanette with her younger classes. Liza has been dancing for over 10 years and is currently enrolled in several classes and a second year member of Stardom's competition team. Also a member of US Figure Skating and an accomplished competitive figure skater, Liza has won many Gold and Silver Medals in Lake Placid, Marlboro, Massachusetts and Burlington, VT.
Miss Molly - Student Teacher
This will be Miss Molly's fourth year assisting both Nanette and Tara with classes. Miss Molly also takes instruction in all styles of dance offered at our studio and is also a member of Stardom's Competition Team. While passionate about all styles of dance, Molly's creative choreography and love for tap is clearly evident.
