Stardom School of Dance
The Team As a member, you are not only a dancer, but also a team player, and with that comes great responsibility. School work, sports, and outside activities must be balanced with dance, which for many dancers may be problematic. Sacrifices must be made. Attendance is crucial and you must regularly attend your weekly scheduled classes. If you choose to become a member of the team, you will also be required to attend at least three additional team rehearsals each month-schedule TBA. These rehearsals will be closed-no spectators are allowed. Please be advised that as a competition nears closer, rehearsals may increase, and it may be necessary to rehearse more. Again, attendance is crucial. You will be removed from the team if you acquire more than two unexcused absences or a total of four absences for the season. You may also be removed from the team if you fail to follow the team rules or if your performance level drops below average.
The team will typically attend 2-3 regional competitions. The competitions will be on weekends sometime between February and May and they will be no more than three hours from the capital region. Joining Stardom’s Performance and Competition Team also requires financial commitment. You will be required to pay entry fees for each routine performed at each competition. There will also be a monthly tuition fee and additional costs for costumes. There will be travel expenses involved and hotel accommodations may be necessary. We understand that joining Stardom’s Competition and Performance team may be a financial burden for some families. Please be informed that fundraising opportunities will be made available to help defray competition costs. Deciding to become a member of Stardom’ Performance and Competition Team requires much thought and consideration. If you are selected, think carefully before deciding if joining the team is the right decision for you.
Stardom's Performance and Competition Team is for passionate and devoted dancers who are ready and willing to take dancing to the next level. To become an elite member of Stardom’s Performance and Competition Team, you must be dedicated, responsible, poised, physically fit, and skilled in the art of dance. Each year a select number of dancers will be chosen and given the option of joining the team. These dancers are selected by their instructor for exhibiting the necessary skills and or potential needed to become a competitive dancer. As a member of the Performance and Competition Team, you will be held to a high performance level at all times and expected to commit yourself and your time wholeheartedly to dancing.
